Foreign Office warning on travel insurance for Brits abroad

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is urging young British travellers to take out sufficient insurance to cover risky activities abroad in order to avoid ‘sky-high’ medical costs.

The warning follows a survey by the FCO that reveals that 45% of Brits between the ages of 16 and 24 failed to check that their insurance covered adventurous pursuits, despite four in five of them admitting to participating in potentially dangerous activities while on holiday, including 30% who have been jet skiing, a fifth who have driven a moped or a quad bike and one in eight who have been skydiving or bungee jumping....
