Your Breakdown Cover questions answered

What does "roadside assistance" mean? What happens if my vehicle breaks down while I'm driving?

If your vehicle breaks down while you driving within the UK, our lines are open 24 hours a day for you to call us and report the problem. Just make sure you give us your vehicle registration and policy reference number, know your current location and provide us with your contact telephone number. Firstly we will try to help you and repair your vehicle on the spot of breakdown, but if it's not possible, we will take your vehicle to the nearest garage or service station where your vehicle can be fixed. If that proves not possible and if the level of cover you purchased allows us to do so, we will take you and your vehicle to your home address. Depending on the level of cover you have with us we could also tow you to any chosen destination within 10 miles from the place of a breakdown.

What is "home assistance"? Does it mean that if my vehicle breaks down at home I'm still covered?

Upon obtaining a relevant cover, we can assist you even when your vehicle breaks down at home. We will first try to repair the fault; if that proves unsuccessful we will transport the vehicle to the nearest garage where we will be able to repair it.

Back to Questions

What will happen if my vehicle breaks down abroad? Will you arrange the transport for me to go back home?

As always we will try to fix your vehicle on the scene. If this won't prove possible, we will take it to the local garage in order to get it repaired. However if even that proves unsuccessful, and after a certain period of time scheduled for repairs, we will then be able to take you and your vehicle back to the UK.

Back to Questions

Who will have to pay for the parts and labour if my vehicle has to be recovered in the garage?

Unfortunately, if roadside assistance won't be of help and your vehicle will have to be fixed in garage we won't be able to cover these expenses. Any cost of parts fitted on roadside or at garage will have to be covered by you.
