A school in Tunbridge Well has extended their term breaks so that families can enjoy cheaper holidays by taking advantage of off-peak rates.
Instead of the usual one week break at half-term, children will now have two, Temple Grove Academy has confirmed.
It means that parents wishing to go away can avoid the prices levied by travel firms during traditional holiday times.
The extra week of holiday does not mean that pupils at Temple Grove have fewer educational days than children at other schools however.
The academy has secured this extra week of holiday by accumulating staff training days across the year, into one week that the children will have off.
The staff training will now take place in evening sessions.
Temple Grove’s announcement follows the news that Chiddingstone Primary, also near Tunbridge Wells, has added 20 minutes teaching time on to each school day, meaning pupils can enjoy an additional two weeks holiday a year outside of peak times.
